Safe Delivery Campaign In Taraba State- 2019/20

To help reduce maternal and infant mortality in Northern Nigeria, our 2019/20 Safe Delivery Campaign will hold in 3 strategic communities in Taraba State. These communities include Wukari, Ibi, and Takun. Our focus will be on re-training the traditional birthing attendants in these areas, to help improve birth outcomes, thereby improving the survival rates of pregnant women and their babies. The training will cover key areas such as the proper use and disposal of birthing supplies which we will distribute to pregnant women and the traditional birthing attendants. We will also educate pregnant women on what to expect throughout their pregnancies, red flags to watch out for so as to seek for help on time, nutrition, newborn and postpartum care. Each pregnant woman in attendance will receive birthing kits, prenatal supplements that would cover them throughout the reminder of their pregnancies, basic essentials for their newborns such as blankets, hats and onesis.
